Many people don’t enjoy healing and healing isn’t productive for them because they believe healing is found outside of them or someone else is their healer. Those beliefs are fundamentally disempowering and promote the victim and helplessness mentality, which prevents genuine, lasting, and holistic healing from happening.

I believe all healing is self-healing because you are the owner and only authority of your mind, body, and soul. Of course, professional assistance, guidance, and support are helpful and encouraged, but at the end of the day—no one can think, feel, or act for you.

Healing is a process that requires a baseline of education about what healing actually entails and the skills to carry that out.
Unfortunately, that education and skillset are not commonly taught.
When most people pursue healing, they not only lack the information and proficiencies to heal in a productive manner but they expect someone or something else to do their healing for them.
They believe someone or something else has greater agency over their own mind, body, and soul than they do.

If you don’t have the knowledge and skills to heal,
If you don’t feel empowered to heal,
If you don't believe you are your own healer—
Then, of course, healing is not going to be enjoyable or productive for you.

Healing is like anything else in life.
If you want to be good at it, then you must learn how to heal and foster the confidence that you can.
You wouldn’t step onto a tennis court with no prior training or experience and expect to win the match and you certainly wouldn’t feel confident you would.

To enjoy an easier healing journey, you need to invest in learning what healing actually entails and the necessary skills.
You need to release the disempowered narrative that healing happens outside of you and embrace the fact that you are your only and greatest healer.

For that reason, negative feelings, experiences, and thoughts are not reasons to feel like your integrity is in jeopardy—because your identity is not attached to your feelings, experiences, or thoughts. Your value, worth, and integrity always remain intact no matter what you’re feeling, what you’re thinking, what you’re doing, or who you are with.

Since your value, worth, and integrity always remain intact, you feel consistently safe, secure, and stable. This inner sense of safety, security, and stability is then reflected in your outer world. This allows you to be flexible, adaptable, and open to change. When hiccups or setbacks happen, you are not derailed for weeks, months, or years. You don’t go back and forth between feeling valuable and feeling unvalued, capable and incapable.

Unconditional self-love is the deepest sense of self-knowing and when you know yourself, you are connected to your power. When you have a firm and solid grasp on the power that permanently lives in you, that is you, everything grows and progresses. You flow instead of struggle. You soothe instead of suffer. There is little need for anything that is unlike love.

Lingering in negative thoughts or feelings and obsessing about negative experiences are no longer desirable because you intuitively know lingering and obsessing equates to a lack of love and trust for yourself and your well-being. Concepts like failure, rejection, disappointment, and defeat cease to exist. You do not take conversations, people, and circumstances personally. Issues get resolved. Stress is managed. Pains are forgiven. Mistakes are pardoned. Because you are consciously motivated by love and not by fear.

Unconditional self-love is not a promise that everything in your life will be perfect. It is a promise that you will cherish how perfect you are regardless of everything in your life."

Often, the simplest things have the most profoundly beneficial impacts. There is abundant medicine for your mind, body, and soul all around you and within you. These healers don't charge you and yet they will always provide.

Get outside.
Take deep and slow breaths.
Giggle and chortle.
Dip your toes in the ocean.
Stand on a mountainside.
Snuggle with a furry friend.
Watch the sun kiss the horizon.
Serenade yourself.
Dance dance dance.

What lifts your heart, expands your soul, brings on peace, and reminds you of how limitless you are is medicine for your mind, body, and soul. Make ample room for them in your life and experience the joy of healing.

Healing is, by definition, a reclamation of your freedom and wholeness.
It’s about reclaiming your true authentic self, fully and unapologetically, without fear or doubt.
You’ve carried the weight of your wounds long enough.
It’s time to reclaim your power.
Not by force, but by loving yourself enough to turn within and release what no longer serves you.

Your inner child—the wondrous, pure, and core part of you—holds the keys to your freedom and thus the reclamation of your whole authentic self.
Because the wounds that make you feel small, not good enough, unlovable, and powerless belong to them.
When you commit to seeing, hearing, and loving your inner child, then you take meaningful healing action to liberate yourself.
Only when you acknowledge your buried shame, unmet needs, fears, pains, and shadows that have kept you small can you be free of them.

Then you are also free to remember who you truly are.
A powerful being with a powerful purpose who has no limits other than the ones you set upon yourself.
Your body, mind, and spirit are extraordinary.
They’ve endured, adapted, and survived more than you give them credit for.
So let this be your reminder—you are alive for a reason and bestowed everything you need to fulfill that reason otherwise you wouldn't be here.

Go within.
See yourself.
Grieve what was lost.
Love yourself.
Heal yourself.
Celebrate the child within you.
Celebrate your magic.

Self-healing does not mean you do everything yours

Self-healing does not mean you do everything yourself. It means you enthusiastically embody your innate responsibility to nurture your own health and happiness by optimizing your mind and body's natural capabilities to heal and thrive by creating and maintaining the proper internal and external environments for them to do so—mental, emotional, physical, relational, and spiritual safety, balance, and harmony.

Everyone needs support in their healing journey in order to heal productively.
When you embrace that fact, seek the right support system, and utilize it, you inevitably struggle and stress less.

Embarking on a healing journey is something to be proud of, not embarrassed about.
We must begin normalizing healing instead of normalizing stress or the facade of pretending to be fine and put together all the time.

Asking for help is a strength, not a weakness.
Seek encouragement and wisdom from your soul.
Obtain assistance and guidance from professionals.
There is no need to suffer.
There is no need to journey alone.
You deserve support and community.
You deserve to heal with joy and ease.
